点评：I would avoid these big Nile Cruise boats. It was a rubbish experience. Our boat was only half full because it offered only half an experience. The sailing schedule seemed to be set for the boat’s convenience and not the customers. 40 boats set off together in a convoy so when you looked at the beautiful Nile all you saw to the horizon were these big tourist ships one after the other. Then they would all dock tied together and your cabin window would be looking at the next boat 3m away. You saw nothing. And when they did dock thousands of people would disembark and all arrive at the temples at exactly the same time creating a mess. Five minutes after we left the temples were as quiet as a mouse. What is that for an experience!
We booked independently, directly with the manager, we agreed a price and then he stipulated that we must pay cash. I told him I don't have cash and he insisted and told me to go and get it. The ATM only lets you take out $50 so I would need 10 transactions. I told him no, I will pay by card and after a very intense stand off he finally said okay. From the moment on he didn't talk to us anymore. It made it pretty uncomfortable.
The MS Royal Viking is nothing special. The rooms okay, food average. On the last day our silly boat didn’t even dock in Luxor as advertised but was a 20 min taxi ride away in the middle of nowhere. Impossible to get a taxi from there at 6am. And even though we were miles away we still had a boat tired to us 3m from our cabin window.
I would give MS Royal Viking zero stars even though the staff were nice (except the manager). They even insisted we have to give a tip when leaving and told us a minimum of EGP 6000. I walked off.
Try to get on a small boat if you want anything resembling a proper Nile experience. Your time is precious
