点评:wanted to try this hike, but not wanting to cause unhappy locals.Went to the temple on Bai Tho street, then was wandering around. A super kind shopkeeper called out to us and pointed up a stairway alley. very dark and narrow. So we went! Led to a locked gate, climbed it, found steps behind an old chapel? and started up. Very overgrown and steep. Some parts were tough to get through, had to climb a ladder or two. Felt totally alone and adventurous and brave--got to the top to find a group of young Vietnamese sitting on chairs eating take out on the green tin roof wearing fancy clothes. They had drones for awesome pics. They were even more surprised to see us, made sure we saw all sides. The views and feeling at the top are breathtaking, we managed to time the sunset just right. Coming down it got dark so we tried to avoid the gate and actually ended up in someones house! They were also very kind, laughed as they showed us through their home going down 3 flights of stairs, then 2 alleys till we were back on the main street. All in all, one of our best adventures and the Vietnamese were such good sports about our intrusion. Remarkable.
