点评:I don't often write reviews, but we were so disappointed in the meal at The Grove - Culinary Institute of America restaurant in Napa -- that I feel the need to comment.
-- the menu is very limited, but the main issue is that you everything is too complicated and all together: Rockfish but comes with mussels -- shelfish alert; Rye Bucatini with Dungeness Crab (why Rye, and seriously I could not find the crab) AND it came with a (light) red pepper sauce -- I'm extremely sensitive to spicy peppers (most others would never taste the heat) -- I would appreciate a warning; Gnocchi with Oxtail Ragu -- my friend liked this, but off my list because of the Oxtail; Focaccia unusually dense, too heavy for a starter. Our friends were underwhelmed with the flavors, everything just seemed to lack the sparkle I had expected.
-- service -- nice people, but not trained well; wine poured for us in much too great a quantity. Somewhat slow between courses.
-- cost -- fine for Napa and what was expected. Prix fixe at $90 per person, but all had to have it (or at least 2)
The Grove - Culinary Institute of America
