点评:We took a tour of Murano Glass while there on a recent stay in Venice. The company that was included was Vetreria Estevan Rossetto 1950. There only happened to be four people on our visit but there were other tours that had maybe a dozen. An interesting visit to the finishing room and then to the glass blowing factory where a number of masters and apprentices were actively creating beautiful pieces. The explanations were very good and watching the artists up close was fascinating. Of course at the end you must "exit through the gift shop," though I this case it was over 20 rooms of every type of hand blown glass you could think of large and small. There were a few sales staff but they were not pushy but nearby of you had questions or were enterested in certain pieces or you could just move on from the factory. While not planning to buy anything, we did find some exceptional items and succumbed to their beauty. The sales kind of reminded us like the most sophisticated and polite car purchase we ever made and I don't mean that disparagingly. There were sales and discounts and some "free" items, plus the manager came by, champagne while we discussed options, etc. but ultimately we did buy two items. They took care of all the paperwork and customs for Italy and the US, our items took about eight weeks to arrive and they were packed magnificently, never seen anything like it. Not inexpensive but a wide range of prices.
