Great stay in a wonderful area
Loch Insh Outdoor Centre的点评
点评：We stayed in one of the cabins here for 4 nights over Easter. The reception for the cabin accomodation is up the hill from the outdoor centre and has its own access. It's adjacent to Insh Hall. Our welcome was very warm and friendly. We were provided with a small map of the site and directed to our cabin. The cabin looks a bit dated, but don't let that put you off. They're very clean and incredibly cosy, with stunning views over the Loch. Each room has an electric heater in, with easy to use controls, as well as opening windows. Kitchen had a modern hob, oven that appeared unused, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave.
We had looked at the menu for the Boathouse Restaurant prior to arriving, as well as the good reviews and were really looking forward to trying their menu. However, when we arrived that first evening, we were greeted by someone who appeared to be very unhappy to be there and told us that due to a staff shortage, there was only a restricted menu for the evening. This consisted of the lunch menu, but with half of the choices removed. This was disappointing, but staff shortages happen, so we made our choices and waited to try the food. Sadly the 4 meals that we received were all disappointing. Warm enough, but tasteless. One of the accompanying items was missed too and was brought towards the end of the meal. This put us off trying anything further at this Restaurant.
During our stay, we booked 2 activities on the Loch. As a resident on site, you receive a 20% discount. The booking and payment process at the outdoor centre reception was simple and friendly. We were provided equipment and instructions by Johnny, who was a happy, friendly and informative guy. Good quality equipment and stunning views from the loch.
There are 2 outdoor play areas at the centre, one for older kids and one for younger ones. There is also ample access to the shoreline.
