Response to negative review of cancellation of Kangaroo Island Trail

点评：I have just read the caustic and selfish review regarding the abandonment of the Kangaroo Island Trail Tour on March 7th, 2025.
To make it very clear to all Trip Advisor compatriots, most of whom have experienced the disappointment of previous cancellations, please note this company was not involved in the decision of the advice of the meteorologist onboard in consultation with the Master of the Ship to bypass Kangaroo Island for passenger and ship safety reasons. The reviewer mentioned Viator and if their tour was booked through them, perhaps they should have a direct conservation with them.
This tour company advised me and my party of 10 very early in the booking process that in the event of a cancellation within 24 hours of the tour, NO REFUND would be available. The company also recommended and stated clearly in their correspondence that an option for this potential contingency would be to obtain the necessary cancellation insurance policy.
Letters of the cancellation details are now readily available from Kangaroo Island Trails for personal travel insurance claim purposes.
Whilst we have all experienced disappointment and frustration about not doing what we thought we were going to see and do, my vote is always for the captain who ensures that all on board his/her vessel are safe.
While the review mentioned above obviously has kneejerk reactions regarding their disappointment, I don't believe that the Trip Advisor platform is one that should allow people to criticise business owners whose main purpose is to develop an informative tour with a huge amount of background organisation and co-ordination. I sincerely hope that the members of Trip Advisor will continue to support local tour groups in all places they travel to.
If I am every privileged to return to Kangaroo Island again, I will use this company whose main objective is to ensure that travellers with limited time on shore can experience something unique. Quodos to you.
