点评：We tried to go today, with driver and 4X4, but the water was too deep! Given there's been no rain in months this seems counterintuitive, but huge surf and high tides, which have flooded an underground aquifer, made the water on the dirt track just too deep.
Stunning looking down on it from the hilltop with the lighthouse, but no way it was swimmable even if you had a helicopter as the waves are 6 meters or so and the currents mean certain drowning (and I've been surfing more than 40 years!).
Note: Whomever named it after Santa Monica Beach in LA had no clue whatsoever. There is no resemblance whatsoever to that sewage infested homeless encampment which is covered in rubbing and packed with people.
This is a pristine stretch of blinding white sand with no sign of humanity whatsoever except the lighthouse.
