点评：Great first impression! There is free parking behind the museum. This city charges a lot for parking and I hate visiting a museum when I have to watch the clock about parking. The free lots allowed me to immerse myself in learning and enjoying the experience. Plus, we arrived about 10 minutes before they opened. They had an outdoor exhibit that set the tone for enjoying what this museum has to offer.
This is a two floor exhibit that has something for all ages. There are hands on exhibits and craft areas for smaller kids. There are mechanical interactive exhibits for older kids, focused exhibits on Michael Jordan, and those that made their careers in space, and prominent Tuskegee Airman history. Additionally, the history of Wilmington and Ft Fisher dioramas.
Allow at least 2 hours. If you like to see everything, allow 3 to 4 hours.
This museum will be moving to a different location, closer to City Hall, when the Grace building is completed later in 2025 or early 2026. We were told it will be even bigger and better. It should be worth a visit too.
