点评:I took a bus T32 on an exploration trip to TUTA (Taman Ungku Tun Aminah). Visited the Pasar Awam and the Food Court at the bus terminal before roaming into Tasek Central Mall strategically located at the epicentre of the town. I then visited the Fo Guang Shan Hsingma Shi before coming to Sutera Mall. Both Tasek Central Mall and Sutera Mall are just 7 min car-drive apart from each other, but I see the big difference in the crowd density between the two malls. On a typical Sunday afternoon, there appeared to be more crowd and visitors at Sutera Mall than in Tasek Central Mall. Although Tasek Central Mall is the first mall in Skudai and commences operation far back in 1996 than Sutera Mall in 2008, the condition of the mall remains well maintained and I hardly see the ageing symptoms of an old mall. I understand that in 2017, Tasek Mall underwent a major refurbishment and upgrading, and her size was double. But I found the layout in Tasek Mall more like a maze and not convenient to navigate. Unlike Sutera Mall, where every shop can be seen at a glance, I have to explore from one hidden corner to another at Tasek Mall. For example, the restaurant Toast is located at one corner, not visibly seen from the walkaway. But in terms of entertainment, one plus point for Tasek Mall is that there are cinemas on the upper floor while Sutera Mall has no cinema. Sutera Mall appears to me more dynamic and vibrant with buzzing activities at their atrium. The Valentine's Day Bazaar attracted many couples at their retail stands and carts. Music and songs related to Valentine Day are also played in creating the atmosphere and the buzz. In terms of grocery, the Market Place lack customer volume, and the Tasek Mall management is inviting Village Grocer to boost their strength. AEON BIG at Sutera Mall may look more attractive. But I like the ECO-Shop at Tasek as every item in the shop is RM 2.40. For food & and beverages, there appears to be more stalls and outlets at Sutera. I see queue and crowd at the Hong Kong Street, Niyumaru Japanese restaurant, Hadilao Hotpot, Swee Kee Chicken Rice, and Verbena at Sutera Mall while the Toast in Tasek was crowded. The F & B outlets are conveniently located on the ground and first floor at Sutera, but at Tasek Mall, you can find them in different corners. There are more goldsmith shops at Tasek like Kedai Emas Poh May, Kedai Emas Pioneer, and Kedai Emas Yi Mei. I am not sure why this is so.
Sutera Mall has 3 levels, while Tasek Central Mall has 5 floors. Sutera Mall is listed at TripAdvisor but not the latter. Nevertheless, the 2 malls serve their neighbourhood in their own unique way.

Sutera Mall 有 3 层,而 Tasek Central Mall 有 5 层。Sutera Mall 在 TripAdvisor 上有排名,但后者没有。尽管如此,这两家商场都以自己独特的方式为社区服务。
