点评：Driving from Niceville to Pensacola, I always opt for the scenic ride along the shoreline, which leads to the Gulf Islands National Seashore. On a day beginning with wicked storms that forced me to the side of the road, the evening sunset at Opal Beach was exquisite in every direction. In six decades of living near the ocean, I have never seen anything so magnificent.
It is well worth putting a few extra miles on your car and adding a few minutes to your travel time to experience the beauty of the Gulf Islands National Seashore at any time of day.
On another quick stop at Opal Beach to view a sunset, I witnessed a wedding (not officially, but from a distance.) I cannot imagine a more perfect location to begin a new chapter in your life.

Along the Gulf Islands National Seashore over the past year, in addition to viewing several breathtaking sunsets, I have seen the Blue Angels fly in numerous formations, including a rare Super Delta together with the Air Force Thunderbirds at the end of 2024.
