点评:Strawberry Banke is a gem of museum, not to be missed if in the area.
Pros:
- Beautiful historical buildings, each with a story to tell; some memorable buildings include the grocery store, the old British-era pub, and the house that juxtaposed two time-periods (18th century and mid 20th)
- Pass allows you to visit across two days
- All the historical interpreters (acting in period costumes/accent) were superb; my hats -off to the "Cooper", "Mrs Abbott", and "Mr. Shapiro" (looking at my camera viewscreen, "who painted that" :))
Cons:
- a bit pricey (though understandable for the upkeep involved)
- be prepared for lots of walking
- Not all the buildings were open
- Would love to see more historical objects placed in some of the houses (vs. replicas)
- Portsmouth is filled with antique buildings; if only the exteriors interest you, you will see it everywhere in the city
Nonetheless, I still highly recommend visiting it
