点评:This is a privately owned garden around a large rambling house in which the elderly owners live (house not open to the public). It's tucked away in a beautiful corner of the Hampshire countryside and accessible via some narrow country lanes. We'd visited once before and enjoyed it but this time there was a strange attitude from the lady who owns the property. Not sure what provoked it, but she seemed a bit passive-aggressive - perhaps our accents were not posh enough or she didn't like the Gardeners World 2-for-1 card we had, or just tired of visitors (in which case why bother opening?).
We felt like we were being watched as we walked round the garden, which incidentally was not as impressive as on our previous visit. The woman then took exception to me running the air conditioning on our car as I tried to cool down my elderly relative who was very hot, and abrasively shouted at me to switch it off (*no please or thank you). To cap it all, I found dog mess on my shoe after walking around the garden no doubt thanks to the dogs the owners have roaming around.
