点评：My wife knocked another thing off my bucket list when she bought me a day's driving experience of a steam locomotive. It was truly wonderful and a week later, the grin is still plastered across my face.
The day started with a safety briefing at 8:45am, followed by a visit to the engineering shed and a full briefing on the loco by the driving instructor. There are a maximum of 4 on the course, so everyone gets a good long go at driving both in the morning and afternoon. We finished around 5:15pm.
I'm not going to detail the whole day, other than to say that it is superb and well worth it. The staff are friendly and helpful and a joy to be with. Lunch is included in the course, and I was expecting sandwiches or some sort of buffet. It was a full roast, and delicious.
This is a wonderful and unforgettable experience and if you have the thought of driving a steam train in your mind, I would urge you to go for it, and do it at Bure Valley.
