Flanders Moss is delightful, but with a fixable problem.
Flanders Moss National Nature Reserve的点评
点评:Flanders Moss is a delightfully serene and quiet place, with a well-maintained boardwalk providing access to everyone almost no matter what their abilities. It’s all fully wheelchair friendly (except for the observation tower) with a myriad of excellent information boards at convenient places. There are copious resting points for the less able, and all with good views of the surrounding hills.
Late spring brings plenty of opportunity for dragonfly and damselfly sightings, as well as the common lizards which are obvious in the warmer weather on many of the boardwalks.
Sadly, there’s a problem with access and it’s very real indeed. The approach road is in a truly tragic condition, as it is now impassible without entering deep potholes even at the slowest of speeds. It’s simply not possible to weave a way through without going into them, and many of them DO ground out cars with little ground clearance. In short, the road is now dangerous.
I say this well aware that money is always tight, but this is a real barrier to a great number of people who would wish to take advantage of this valuable facility.
