点评:I didn't book up a tour for this as I didn't want to commit and my hotel was close enough to walk to this (after a look around the Waterfront mall and area).
I had no problems in rocking up after lunch and only had to wait 5mins to then be added to the next tour going round. Our chap was very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in the work done. We got to hear the history and how the things are made as well as observe some of the workers. We then had free time to stroll around the giant props and floats as we wished. It is a large warehouse with a lot to see and can get pretty hot in the summer heat.
My only issue was that it took me longer than expected to walk to it as you have to walk the entire length of the conference hall to get to the entrance, however, I was able to catch one of the shuttle vans going back in to town (you can get them to the warehouse too but have to phone for one to come and I didn't have a US sim).
There is also a large gift shop which is always a nice bonus, although, surprisingly, no books available to buy on the Mardi Gras here.
