Didn't quite live up to my expectations.
Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse的点评
点评：Don't get me wrong, it was a good stop. The problem I had is that I hyped this stop up in my head so much, that it would have been hard to live up to my expectations. The light was smaller than I expected and on a cliff that was shorter than I expected. The pictures I had loved for so long were taken a bit further offshore than the tide was allowing at the time, so the shot I really wanted wasn't available to use. You may want to check the tide schedule and plan accordingly if you can.
It was still a fun stop. We first went over to the lighthouse itself, which is a bit underwhelming. There is only a small area that you can see it. You cannot walk around it or go inside. After that, we followed the trail to the stairs that took us down to the rocky coastline. It was a bit busy, so you had to maneuver a bit to get a clean picture. Be prepared to climb around on some boulders. The coastline the other direction was actually a better picture. If you are only going for one day, this probably shouldn't be a priority, unless you have to see the lighthouse which I completely understand.
