What A Let Down….Twice
Academy Art Museum的点评
点评：My husband and I attempted to tour this museum last year around the same time and were turned away at the door because they were hosting a private function for members only and there was no notification that this was happening either online or outside by way of a sign. At least one other couple tried to visit that evening and were also turned away when we were.
So, we returned this year only to find out that the famous artwork listed as their permanent collection wasn’t on display! Not one of the many paintings on the website were being displayed.
Local publications have touted this “obscure little museum’ as being worth a visit because you can see a Picasso, Cassat etc.
We were also told by the front desk greeter that there was an exhibition to see upstairs, so we went up and saw an empty hallway. Went back downstairs and asked if I heard correctly and was told that they just took that exhibit down.
This was a completely horrible experience all around…and 2 years in a row yet!
So….even if they somehow obtain the Mona Lisa or any other rare artwork from around the world, we will never attempt to return to this museum. And may I suggest that the website list reliable information as far as when it is in fact open to the public as well as which paintings (particularly those of interest to the general public) are on display….or maybe Not on display at any given time.
Unfortunately this was a huge disappointment!
