点评：One of the most visited and most photographed attractions in Washington DC is the Lincoln Memorial. The large stone structure and the statue of Lincoln, seated in a chair, are images that most everyone will recognize.
Approaching the Lincoln Memorial, you will need to be prepared to walk some steps. It seems like a lot from a distance, but once you get closer and start walking up the steps, it’s not bad at all. If you cannot walk the steps, due to being in a wheelchair or any other reason, this is not a problem because there is also a ramp.
Once inside, you will be presented with the large statue of Lincoln, which takes center stage. Surrounding the statue are important quotes, including Lincoln’s famous Gettysburg address. Some will spend time reading this and other quotes, but the majority of people who visit will simply pay their respects to one of our greatest presidents, snap a few pictures, and continue on to other attractions.

The large pillars on both the outside and inside of the building make you feel like you are entering a shrine, a holy place.
