点评:We visited on 2/7 which was just the 2nd day of the 2025 festival. The ice sculptures along Heiwadori street were still in process and the free shuttle bus from the station to the park only began on the weekend.
We walked along Heiwadori street just to see whatever in process ice sculptures we could see. It was many blocks and about a third had people working on them.
When we arrived at the festival venue it was around 10AM and sunny. It was great weather and no crowds. We were able to ride the massive slide twice in a row, built our snowman and took a ride on the snow raft instead of the banana boat with almost no wait! The snow raft ride was the only one where we paid 500 yen per person for a few minutes ride being pulled by a snow mobile.
There was a smaller number of snow sculptures here but the massive multistory high one was used for a performance stage, slide, aerial views and art all in one.
We unfortunately did not get to stay until the evening light show. The stage was busy with kid activities and a group warm up activities with the audience.
Glad we came to Asahikawa and saw their 2025 festival.
