Somehow misses the mark
South River Brewing Co的点评
点评：I travel near and far for craft beer, especially those smaller and less trafficked establishments. Sadly this visit was a disappointment. We arrived and it seemed abandoned. No one there to greet us or anything. Then we found someone who was busy stocking the fridge. We didn't receive much of a greeting though. One thing I love about these places is that the brewers share the same passion for beer that I do, but sadly I didn't feel that way this time.
There is a small, neat store with books, mugs and other thingys. However, I remember there being more of a focus on dog merch and treats in the store, which gives it a pet store vibe. Perhaps this alienates them a bit?
They may have had low staff that day. We tried 8 beers and found them quite underwhelming, even though I tried very hard to like them. The can art was lovely, the names were right up my alley, but the taste just wasn't there. Most of them fell flat, watery or lacking in any real complexity. Usually I end up leaving with multiple packs of six but this time I bought nothing. My wife and I have trouble finishing the tasting. One day I'd like to go back though and give it another try.
