Overbooked - beware of this place
Hostal Paraiso Colonial的点评
点评：I arrived in Remedios on 23 December for the famous Las Parrandas and was immediately told that the hostel was overbooked due to an error of the international booking platform. The owner told me she had already organized another accomodation for me and organized a bicitaxi for me to get there. As Remedios was fully booked (I checked on the booking platform's app), I had no other choice than to accept staying at the other accomodation.
Unfortunately the other accomodation was not a hostel, but the former child's room in a private flat in a prefabricated building twice as far from the town center. It was clean, there were bedsheets and towels, but that's about it. I had to share the bathroom with the landlady, and there was no WiFi. No big problem for an experienced traveller like me, but certainly not the standard I had booked and paid for.
Regarding payment I was told by Hostal Paraiso Colonial that I needed to claim the refund via the international booking platform as they were unable to reimburse me in cash. For the other accomodation I had to pay USD 80 for two nights to the landlady (no receipt was given, as this was not an official place to stay for foreigners).
Unfortunately, now Hostal Paraiso Colonial claims I did not have to pay any extra money for the other accomodation, and the booking platform refuses to reimburse me.
So, hands off this place...
