点评：My Wife and I visited because the website advised that they had the largest collection of Tiffany glass in Europe. We are both lovers of this style and we’re delighted to learn that such a collection was virtually on our doorstep.
We therefore went on Wednesday (2 August).
The building is indeed magnificent and surrounded by beautiful gardens, we were looking forward to viewing the large collection and staying for lunch.
Regrettably it was a huge disappointment, there were barely any exhibits (bearing in mind our level of expectation had been set by “the largest collection in Europe” - there were just a few pieces scattered around different rooms. Whilst I accept that the collection may be of huge artistic significance, for those of us who just appreciate Tiffany for what it is I think that the advertising misleads visitors into expecting something that is not there.
If you are a Tiffany history devotee then I’m sure you will find it of huge interest, if however you just like Tiffany are expecting to see a large number of pieces then I’m afraid like us, you will be hugely disappointed.
The staff were very polite and friendly.
We were going to stay for lunch however I’m afraid that we found the decor in the dining room quite unwelcoming.
