Retreat From Sand & Sun of Bronte Beach

点评：Obviously it’s Bronte Beach that is the main attraction and which draws everyone to the area. However Bronte Park, leading down to the beach, is a great space to retreat to if you need some time away from the sun and sand.
It is a large, open park and a very popular picnic and family spot. You’ll find all the facilities you’d expect from a popular, busy park - BBQs, playground, toilets, picnic shelters, nearby cafes on Bronte Rd and a kiosk at the Surf Lifesaving Club.
There are wide, open, grassy areas where you can spread out and enough space to put up your own shade tent or for kids to kick a ball play or chuck a frisbee without upsetting anyone else’s picnic.
IMO, the best spots though are higher up, on the northern slopes of the park. Here, the picnic tables overlook the beach and have superb sea views. However there are fewer picnic tables in this section so they can get taken quickly on a weekend.
Overall between the park, the beach and nearby cafes, it is a very family-friendly area and a very special picnic spot.
There are just 2 caveats attached to that. Firstly, parking can be a nightmare. Secondly if planning a picnic, be aware that strictly speaking alcohol is not allowed in Sydney parks.
NOTE: Don’t leave without walking up the path past the Baths to the end of the headland. It has absolutely beautiful ocean views and striking sandstone formations.
