March round, all good.
Old Thorns Golf Course的点评
点评：Two of us had been purchased a voucher for a winter round of golf and a sausage roll and coffee at the halfway hut.
We arrived in good time for our 10:20 tee time, and booked in with the attentive guys in the pro shop. We decided last minute to rent a buggy for £40 which was no problem, with no need to book in advance. Apparently our package included a free ball marker too, nice !
We were concerned that we might be paired up with other golfers to make a four ball as others have reported, but this didn't happen and we tee'd off bang on time.
The course was in good condition for the time of year, no muddy patches on the fairway and rough that wasn't too long and damp.
We completed our round of this picturesque course in just over 4 hours, including our stop at the hut. We were never held up by others with the spacing between groups just right. The only issue was there was no vegetarian option at the hut.
We're glad to have taken the buggy, as there are some steep climbs and the walk between some holes is long.
After the round we enjoyed some beers and food in the sports bar. Again, everyone was friendly, providing good service and delivering excellent food. The Old Thorns special burger is huge !
Overall a really good experience, possibly helped out by the time of year, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
