点评:We had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews, but we were sorely disappointed. The food lacked flavor, far from being authentic Indian food. I couldn't recall having such poor quality "Chicken Tikka Masala" in any Indian restaurant before - it didn't appear fresh, and didn't have the right spices that goes into any standard "Chicken Tikka Masala" - its quality was inferior compared to what we have had in the past in restaurants in India but also in other Indian restaurants in Virginia and the US, and even around the world. Seemed like large pieces of boiled (and dry) chicken were put in the gravy and heated in a microwave and offered as "Chicken Tikka Masala"; no inkling of the chicken actually being marinated in a flavorful gravy as it is supposed to be. And, the funny fact was that the Lamb Rogan Josh gravy tasted the same as the Chicken Tikka Masala gravy. To someone who is not familiar with the distinct taste of these two different preparations with different set of spices and ingredients - its perhaps easy to overlook this fact - but to us who are native of India, it seemed as if the restaurant had taken the same rather bland Chicken Tikka Masala gravy and only added a little more pepper to serve it as Rogan Josh (as we had told the server that we wanted the Lamb Rogan Josh to be more spicier and Chicken Tikka Masala to be medium spicy!). The Kathi Roll (Chicken + Paneer) and Mago Lassi were equally unimpressive, rated mediocre at the best. The ambience and service were good and prices were reasonable. But it was an important birthday lunch celebration for us - and unfortunately Kanak Indian Kitchen turned out to be an overall unpleasant experience for the food itself - simply tasteless, very low quality. Not Value for Money.
