A new hotel in an historic building.
The Inn at Blackstone的点评
点评：This building was built over 100 years ago and was a college where my Grandmother attended and later was a place I attended for church youth retreats. I was excited to see what they had done to the building.
I have stayed at a few adaptive reuses before where a hotel was created and you could not see any of the history of the building. I am glad that is not the case here. The room layout is pretty much what I remembered from my high school days and tall ceilings and original hardwood floors and big windows still let in lots of light. This does result in surface mounted electrical boxes and utility chases which with the polished concrete floors gives an industrial feel to the classic building. It is an interesting vibe.
My room was one of the smaller ones in the T wing of the structure which for just one person was fine. Everything in the guest room of course is new and clean. There are many, many gathering and sitting places around the property if you need to get out of the room - both inside and out.
The staff was always friendly and helpful.
It’s a little off the beaten path in a small town and it was definitely quiet. If you need to get away from it all - this is a good place and value.
If you have been here in the distant past you can definitely recall your experiences from those days walking around. I know I did.
