点评:Came here for sandwiches last night, and ordered to dine in. No matter how you order, everything is put into 'to go' styrofoam containers. We waited quite some time for our sandwiches, with great anticipation. I love Rueben sandwiches, and have eaten them in many cities, both in the United States and abroad, so I was excited to try this one, due to the good reviews here. My Rueben at Tony's was $14, and a complete waste of time and money. The sandwich was not hot, the bread not toasted, and within 3 bites, the bread was a soggy mess. I tried to separate the other half of the sandwich and put it on napkins, but soon, that was an even worse mess, and made my stomach turn. The meat was much like grocery store deli meat; no taste and no character. Corned beef is a Brisket, and has textured meat, with a small amount of fat that brings the sandwich big flavor. The meat here was overly pink, had no character or markings of real brisket. There was very little Russian dressing, and the cabbage was apparently not drained well, so it added to how wet the entire sandwich was. Two employees, a man and a woman, each called to us from a kitchen type window to ask "how everything was". Having been part of a retail family for over 75 years, it would have been Much nicer for them to come out to the dining area, and come to our table. There was only one other table occupied, and a few people doing takeout, and that gesture would have meant a lot more, if it was not 'called' to us, from 20 feet away. I felt nauseated by the wet bread and slimy meat on my sandwich, and Should have said something. But, after a long, hard day at work, I was just too tired to complain to people who could not make it to our table to inquire about our experience.
The other sandwich we ordered was a build your own, and with one small bag of chips, and one small drink the total was $38, which was too expensive for the low quality. The second sandwich was on Italian style bread, which held up better, and did not get soggy. However, the turkey on that sandwich was the same, poor grocery store deli quality; shiny and salty.
For the elevated price, food in a to go container for dine in, and half our meal an inedible waste, we have decided not to return to Tony's.
