点评:Gosh, what a stunning location and what a let-down! Tired isn’t the word. Knackered is more appropriate.
The toilets were shameful!
The terrace was worn, damaged brickweave - and dirty - although, to be fair, the predominantly young staff made best efforts to keep the glass table tops clean - a table next to ours was falling apart - it’s plastic wicker-work all unthreaded and lengths dangling down into the lap of the diners.
Having noted the above, had we not already walked 2 miles to get here, had there been any alternative venue for lunch, we would have gone elsewhere. (In short: don’t walk here).
If the front of house is so neglected, quite what the kitchens are like I dread to think - but we had little choice but to eat here or starve. We deliberately chose hot ‘cooked’ items and leaving the side salad (which I would usually enjoy with a meal). Neither of us suffered any ill-effects so perhaps the kitchens are clean.
It was quite busy - surprisingly so. The staff were friendly and pleasant enough - but we’ll not be back!
I’m told it’s due a refurb next year - the owners/proprietors/managers should be ashamed of themselves. It was ‘due’ years ago!
