Pinball paradise--with excellent beer!

点评：What a concept--and well executed.
The proprietors of this establishment have taken what was once an auto service center and converted it to a good bar and grill that's a shrine to pinball. I think there are over 30 pinball tables, along with several other arcade games, filling up the room that once was the customer service counter and also the former lift bays. They've gotten a competent painter to do game-related murals on their walls, and behind the bar a couple of older arcade game cabinets are converted to hold taps or bottles. It's gratifying to find a theme so well done.
Their craft beer selection is outstanding, I had a very tasty buratta and my wife chose a fine IPA. It's hbeen, I thinkl decades since I've played pinball, and as I perused the options I realized why. Back when I played almost daily, the machines had not yet been computerized, nor did they have merchandising tie-ins to popular culture. My machines were Fireball, Gorgar, Avatar. The newer ones are all blazoned with movies, rock bands, TV shows, or superheroes, and the game play is marked by lots of distracting flashy lights, multi-level madness and amped-up music.
So my visit informed me that I no longer enjoy pinball, unless I can find tables from 50 years ago--and I do enjoy a friendly bartender and a good craft brew. An enjoyable way to pass part of an afternoon.
