My husband and I travel all the time with our 3 kids and it’s not the first we’ve left items behind during the chaos of leaving with 3 small children. We left several items in the closet of our hotel room last week. We realized pretty quickly and called because we wanted to turn around and come back to get the items ( some expensive ones including Patagonia clothing, new Nike shoes, limited edition basketball jersey). We were told that any items that are in the rooms get locked in the housekeeping closet and they did not have access to that unless the manager was in (which she was not). They front desk, took our information and said they would call us back. We then proceeded to need to call every single day for five days. Each day it was like the first time we called. By the fifth day we had had it, and demanded someone check while we were on the phone. The front desk proceeded to tell us there was nothing found. We explained we called almost immediately saying we left the items behind, how could anyone other than housekeeping have entered the room? They claimed us losing items is not their responsibility. I’ve never had an item stolen by housekeeping until I stayed at this hotel. I was also so disgusted by the front desk support, they refused to take any responsibility or even be empathetic at all about my five-year-old crying over her new shoes that were gone.
