A bit in Zimbabwe, South Africa but mostly in boutique game Lodges and isolated camps in Botswana. my Son and his family, who is also a Technical Services Manager for a group of lodges in Botswana, visited us here in Graff-Reinet for 2 days. We brought along my Mom for a family breakfast. We decided on Coldstream because of its very good reviews. Prices seemed slightly high but later were clearly justified. It was a relaxed, peaceful meal with beautiful ambience. We decided to sit outside and were quickly assisted to move umbrellas and take shelter when the birds began to "drop in" on our table! I did not have to mention it...our waitress's attention to detail observed and sorted the problem out. I generally order a custom breakfast of medium scrambled eggs, toast and sometimes bacon or mushrooms. Chefs will know that scrambled eggs arriving plated and"medium" before a diner is no easy task. Mine were perfect. Although the Waitress had an excellent recall, our table changed their order multiple times during the ordering process and I think she would have benefitted by taking notes. All who ordered scrambled eggs got medium although all wanted well done. The final bill and tip was well within our expectations. Coldstream is now my go-to restaurant for special occasions.
