Angelito, the boat that exceeds in every way

点评：We loved the Angelito. Having proper big windows that opened was important to us. There were fans and aircon but we like fresh air. The beds were very comfortable (and not bunks), we always had hot water at any time, reading lights, plenty of storage. Our suitcases were stores elsewhere. The top deck was great for reading and relaxing between activities, with plenty of sunbeds and shade when needed. The sun is very hot, you really do need factor 50 suncream. The main area had 2 dining tables which worked well and the food was good, not brilliant but they do have to carry the food for a week with them but they were fantastic at catering for special diets, never forgot, even the snacks on returning from activities. When you returned from snorkelling there were clean towels, hot chocolate and fresh pastries and cold juices, snacks and fruit returning from hikes and boat trips.
Guide: Maya who is Austrian but has lived in the Galapagos for 35 years. Incredibly knowledgeable, with a huge love for the area that spreads to you. Great hikes and boat trips, a really varied itinerary for the western islands. Too many special moments to mention but watching a turtle leaving the nest having laid her eggs and making her way, exhausted, back to the sea was pretty special. We were often the only people somewhere but if there were others we were always there first and had, we thought, the best experience as we were allowed the time to appreciate places and things we saw.
There are two dinghys and if you do not want to do a hike or a snorkel they will take you out on the boat. They will look after you snorkelling if you need it and are always around to pick you up if you are tired of being in the water. We saw so many turtles, sealions and penguins. Sadly saw no whales but it was not the right time of year. I searched for ages in the one place that I might possibly have seen seahorses, Maya came with me to look. Above and beyond!
I would highly recommend this boat. It is not the smartest boat with the biggest rooms but it has the biggest heart. The staff are also all great.
