点评：I found the Fish Colombia front office staff to be exceptionally good. The owner reached out to me on Instagram and arranged a meeting with his head guide ten months ahead of my trip. This gave me plenty of time to tie the right flies to tempt the trophy peacock bass we sought at Orinoco Lodge. My only request re booking is that the company find a way to accept either cUSD credit cards or checks to make international wire transfers unnecessary.
At the lodge, the head guide was professional, super nice and safety-conscious. The fishing was challenging, yet rewarding. Trophy payara (vampire fish) were landed out of the mighty Orinoco daily. The big temensis peacocks I sought proved elusive the first three days, but I landed one over 10lbs each of the last four days. Overall, 8 of the 9 fly anglers on this adventure landed at least one 10lber over the week.
The fishing is in remote areas, so be prepared for long travel over land and in the water. The scenery is spectacular and the wildlife (if you catch a glimpse) equally beautiful.
