点评:My wife and I moved to the Ashland area not too long ago and kept passing Woody's on the way to and from Columbia and wanted to try it out since it's a neighborhood establishment. One of those things; we live less than five minutes away but a year went by before we got around to giving it a try. We did so today, and are sorry we waited so long! We went in at about 3PM on a weekday (Wednesday) so there was a very light crowd; maybe a dozen people in a place that seats 50-60 in the main seating area.
Big, clean parking lot that looks like it was paved fairly recently.
Likewise, the inside is clean, well-lit and uncrowded. It's welcoming if not especially distinctive; kind of a sports-bar sort of place with some high-tops, some booths, a good-sized bar, a couple of pool tables and maybe a half-dozen big TVs hung here and there (all sports).
The menu is online so I won't go into that. We decided to try the fried pickles, then my wife ordered a patty melt w/tater tots and I went for a burger that's their version of a Big Mac and a side of onion rings.
All the food was great. Fried pickles were crisp and tart; the breading was crunchy and tasty - but not greasy.
The sandwiches were well-prepared and generously sized. My onion rings were delicious and definitely not something that came in a bag from Sysco - I believe they were hand-cut and hand-battered. They were cooked properly and not at all greasy.
There was only one person in the front of the house; she was tending bar and serving the tables but was all about it; we had a very short wait to get seated - actually told to grab a table - and was right there to take our orders, which were ready in very short order.
We had an appetizer, sandwiches and soft drinks for about $45.
That's not too bad, considering that a basic meal for two at a typical fast food joint is $20 or more.
There's really not a whole lot to say, because this isn't a particularly fancy place. But it's a nice place to grab a casual meal and the food seems to be really, really good.
If you live in the area or are just passing through, I'd recommend Woody's as a place to visit.
