点评:I visited the recently-opened Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum. The museum includes the Adas Israel Synagogue, built in 1876 as the first permanent Jewish house of prayer in Washington, DC. The building was moved three times and is now part of the Capital Jewish Museum. The historic synagogue is connected to a modern building, which houses most of the exhibits. Its core exhibit was interactive. In one section, you could place small wooden tokens in containers that represented ways to increase voter turnout. The instructions said that if you are a DC resident, place your tokens in the DC resident container since you can't vote on these issues! They had political yarmulkes (skull caps) and buttons. Another exhibit featured famous Washington Jews. One interactive exhibit asked the question "Who Are You?" You had to find blocks with words that describe you and then take a photo with them. (It wasn't easy finding someone to take the photo since there were only two other people in the entire museum.)
