The best and only dive center currently operating in Libya

点评：Wisam runs an excellent dive center, and it is the only one currently open in Libya.
He has numerous dive instructor qualifications from CMAS, PADI, etc. (see photo); speaks English; is concerned about safety and has good equipment (you need to bring a wet suit and booties as he just has dive socks). He is also involved with underwater archaeology and works with the authorities in that regard.
We dove the Tiboda ruins which is only 2 meters deep and so more suitable for snorkeling. Conditions were dreadful end May (temp. a pleasant 22 C) due to surge--we couldn't even see our hands in front of our faces and had to abort the dive. Nevertheless, we had a great time as everyone was so friendly and it felt good to be in the sea. Wisam says there are other sites to dive nearby including a wreck and reef. Summer is the best time to dive as the sea is calmer then. The Tiboda site is a shore dive accessible from a beach about ten minutes drive from the dive center.
There is a sea water tap outside his facility to rinse your booties and a decent toilet in his facility. He lets you change in his classroom which is modern, though a bit dusty.
We weren't allowed to take underwater photos due to local sensitivities, but Wisam had a camera and would have shared any photos had the visibility cooperated.
