点评:After a long drive I was famished and looking for an authentic and satisfying French meal to round off the holiday, I consulted the web and fell upon The Auberge Normande.
An interesting starter, 'duo' of, apparently, salmon and scallops, liberally sprinkled with some kind of dust/breadcrumbs and a reduced balsamic dressing, with a plethora of, not bad, salad to fill the plate, accompanied by lemon and grapefruit slices? With an eggcup of mayonnaise out of a squeezy bottle, which served a purpose of which I have no idea what!.......Not an inspiring entrée!
I splurged out and paid a supplement for the Filet de Bœuf rossini, flambé au calvados.
Not a whiff of 'apple fragrance' in the sauce, and again, accompanied by egg cups of indistinguishable sauces??
Cheese course, kept in the fridge too long, already prepped.
I sound line a real pain in the you know what, but I can cook,and when I eat out I expect to eat, at least, as well as at home or better......not this time.
To be fair, its holiday season, the chef was on his own with one waitress! so bravo there, but it's not rocket science, if you like food...cook it as you would want to eat it....end of sermon.
