点评：In order to visit the “Igreja de S. Pedro (Matriz de Folgues) e convent” you have to drive from Arganil to the small hamlet of Folgues, which is not that far away.~

What is known about the convent of Folgues early history is little and uncertain. The oldest sources place it between the 11th and 12th century.
Part of the building be traced back to a 16th century, which includes the cloister and the tower, although the latter is of later construction. It seems to be that the church was also remodeled during the 18th century, although it retains part of its original equipment.
The Folques Monastery as well as the artistic contents and farm are classified as Property of Public Interest. From the convent you can only see the interior patio of it and the outside, about the church this one was closed on the moment of our visit. The convent is currently occupied by the "Employment and Vocational Training Center of Arganil.
