Make sure to visit while in Husavik!
胡萨维克鲸博物馆的点评
点评：We didn't stop here in 2022 but made sure to do so in 2024, regardless of the fact that our whale watching from Husavik got cancelled for 3 different dates between those 2 years... but I can see how the experience can be even more enjoyable/powerful here after seeing live Whales immediately prior! :)
The blue whale remains and the display above are absolutely amazing - these 2 things by themselves are a reason to see this place! The heart of the blue whale exhibit is also mind blowing when compared to a standing human - it was bigger than my wife :)
What I didn't care was the video about whaling in Faroe Islands - not only I had experienced whaling in Azores's and Madeira's whaling museums but also I am looking forward to visiting Faroe Islands next year, so it's not the whaling issue - I thought it just made no sense to me that in Iceland, and Husavik in particular aka the Whale Capital of Iceland (as one of the drawings on their walls read) we are watching a movie about another country (one could argue that this is to educate people about whaling but it's not like Iceland didn't do it in the past...) - I think a movie geared towards Iceland and about whales in general would be much more fitting than the Faroe Islands one!
