点评:This was my favourite pub in Canterbury during my week's stay. In fact, the only one I liked at all, because it was the only one that felt friendly.
The main bar was small and intimate, with a decent board of ales, such as Agwe Pale, Jaipur, and a gose. The seating is close to the bar, which encourages chat. Sooner or later, everyone speaks to each other--it would be harder not to.
The clientele was highly educated, so conversation is more interesting here than most casual pub chat. Several student types, including Tom who sometimes appeared behind the bar, were chattier to an old codger like me than I'm used to from young folk. They reminded me of me and my friends when we were young. We respected old timers as bhikkhus.
Felt like my local for the week. Recommended.
