点评：I would rate it five stars for nature and undoubtedly beautiful and scary surroundings.
Scary nature of experience was down to uncertainty whether I would be able to buy the tickets that is why I gave a four stars
The way tickets are sold outside the season is the most ridiculous way I ever seen.
Every 10 minutes they release 10 tickets. You first need to register online on Vivatickets. Trust me.
Experience is not for the faint hearted!!!!! You must refresh the page just in the right time. Few seconds later and tickets are sold.
I managed after one hour trying💪💪💪💪💪💪
If you buy the bundle tickets from the providers I believe it's easier.
Ok, some practical advice.
We arrived there by car. Left on the carpark around 3 km below the entrance to the walk to Vesuvius. I would advise to take the bus (only 3 euro return per person) the walk is also possible but nothing exciting as you would walk on the road and inhale the fumes from the passing cars.
Finally, walk up and around the Vesuvius takes around 1 hour return with stops for pictures and admiring the beauty of the volcano.
