Satanakarart The God Of Naka的点评
点评：This massive naga monument is situated alongside the Mekong at the southern end of the main business and tourism precinct, right at the head of the main T-junction of the city. It makes quite an impression as you approach, either by vehicle from Nittayo Road, or on foot from walking street and the riverside restaurants further north.
This seven-headed snake is 10.9 meters high and faces outward, symbolically protecting the city and the temples behind it from storms and other calamities. There is a procession of visitors making offerings (and taking selfies) and the surrounding pathways and gardens are well-manicured and accentuate the scale of the statue.
This whole complex was built in 2016 and really gives the city a recognizable identity; of all the Thai cities lining the Mekong, Nakhon Phanom is the most memorable.
Note: if you're on a riverside stroll from Walking Street, this is a good turning around point. There isn't a lot further south.
