点评:During a stay at the resort, I ate at Fornace de Medici for dinners and breakfasts and both were outstanding. The setting in the old stone building with exposed timber beams and rustic but comfortable furniture felt like I was going back in time.
Everything is sourced from their organic estate, including the wild boar, vegetables and of course olive oil. The manager and sommelier spent time with us helping us choose the best wine and amaros for our tastes. The service was impeccable. The breakfast every morning consisted of hot egg and quiche dishes as well as 4-5 homemade cakes and pies made with fruit from the orchard. Reservations for dinner and breakfast are highly recommended as they do fill up sometimes.
The staff of Fornace de Medici went out of their way to make sure we had wine and cheese and bread, and other snacks to take to our villa for afternoon or late night. The restaurant also provided drinks and snack service in the afternoons around the pool or at one of several scenic view spots, despite the fact that the restaurant doesn't technically open until 7:00.
The restaurant is largely frequented by Italians, which speaks to its authenticity. I highly.
