点评：The Light is a wondrous and magical place. It puts on a great range of movies, from classics to blockbusters via indie hits. Seats are roomy and reclinable. There’s a bar. There are pizzas. There’s popcorn and there’s a pic’n’mix. The latter isn’t the only bonus for kids: for youngsters there are toys and colouring, while for older children (and adults, let’s be real) there’s an awesome – and free! – coffee table arcade machine. Tickets are great value (compared to, say, Everyman), particularly if you sign up for membership: for £15.99 per month you can go AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT; you only have to go twice to be making a saving. Oh, and there’s three hours’ free parking at the nearby multi-storey (remember to grab a parking voucher on your way out). Oh, and the staff are really friendly (special shout-out to Tracey on that score, who regularly and accurately predicts what film I’ve turned up to watch). Oh, and they do crochet club and a quiz night and an open-mic night and special dementia screenings and… sigh. The Light, I love you.
