Disappointed

A establishment that prides itself on excellent service coupled with the prices that it charges and the quality of food average at best. It should begin to address service as a priority. An example, we ordered a salad and requested that it be split, not a problem of course. How about two plates at the table and we needed to split it ourselves! You cannot call this first class service! How about 50$ for an average filet! Last time for sure……

My family dined at the Belfry for a family celebration. We reserved the sanctuary room. There were 16 of us . We had two big round tables. It was perfect. I have never enjoyed better service in my long life. The servers were beyond exceptional . Every possible need was anticipated and met. The food was innovative and simply put - FABULOUS. My husband and I have dined at the Belfry for years. They never disappoint. I highly recommend this beautiful Sandwich restaurant.

This is 5 star dining and 3 star prices. Perfect meal and outstanding server. Everyone of us felt our "choice" was the perfect choice and no one wanted to share... LOL.

Hotel veramente bello e caratteristico. Costruito in una ex chiesa cattolica ha mantenuto l’architettura esterna e la volta interna. Poche camere, molto belle e al centro il bistrot. Veramente bello.

We stayed in the Seth room in the Painted Lady. Our room was well appointed, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious and food plentiful. Service was friendly and attentive. We did not get a chance to dine at the Belfry Bistro - perhaps next time as we will definitely be back.

A restaurant in search of a theme. A converted church which once had ambiance is now a hodgepodge of church, beach and who knows what else. Bless me but I need to get to the food. Yes, the entrees were good, short ribs were tender but served with polenta was not a match. Duck was very good and corn ravioli was tasty. The tuna appetizer was a sin, not sinful. Besides being fishy it had too many embellishments soy sauce, seaweed, mustard, berries, fish eggs , avocado and mango. The chef must be trying to find himself. Lost in the wilderness. Now to the genesis. Let there be a wine list fulfilled. Four Italian wines. Ordered one and was told they didn’t have it in addition to two others….only one. Tried again… Cabernet please…we don’t have it. What’s with this place, is it cursed? Tried again another red.., fine. Now watch the waitress try to open the bottle. Please practice first.. it took forever. We were embarrassed for her… take pity. Tried to order Oban whisky… on the list….No we don’t have it. We have to laugh because you don’t have to turn water into wine. In this day and age, a trip to the package store would solve all these problems. You are need to improve and manage this as an upscale restaurant for fine dining.

. . . more than you can chew. And so it was at The Belfry. I was really looking forward to our visit, too, after striking out miserably at our designated anniversary spot two nights before. We loved The Belfry the last time we were there. I was hoping for a top-tier experience again. But. Two hours after sitting down, with no mains yet to appear, we took our leave, our appetites' already diminished. And wouldn't you know? Just as we were preparing to exit, the food arrived. Too late. The resto accepted more functions and guests than it had the staff to accommodate well. Too bad. Although my wife was not overjoyed with her starter salad ("Too much balsamic," she said), I found the strawberry gazpacho to be first-rate. My second course (I opted for three starters), a burrata Caprese, was easily one of the best, if not the best, I've ever had. That was about 70 or 80 minutes in. Thereafter, apologies and an "It's on the way. I'm sorry. We're slammed." later, we had had it. I was far more fed up than fed and that is not at all what we bargained for. I'll probably come back in a year, hoping for the best.
