The best meal out that we have had in India. A delicious fusion of Indian, French and North African cuisine. I had Chicken Caesar salad, tiger prawns with squash and orange and almond tart. Excellent service from Fouizeya. Very good value for an excellent meal.

What a wonderful evening at this small courtyard restaurant with additional seating under cover. We were greeted by Fouizeya, a charming young lady with a lot of finesse, and taken to our table. Our waiter was Ram who looked after our every need. My husband had the butter chicken with lemon rice and roti and I had the tiger prawns served on a bed of pumpkin purée and spinach with a portion of French fries. For our deserts we both had ice cream. The food is so good we have decided to return to this quaint restaurant tomorrow as well. Life is good in Pondicherry.

Lovely setting for an evening meal and lovely food too After struggling to find anywhere nice to eat in Chennai it was a relief to get a reservation here. Nice atmosphere and really pleasant staff. Good range of food all freshly prepared and well presented We were also able to enjoy a glass of wine and a beer with the food which was the first of the holiday Prices good for quality of food and setting well worth it Booked again for this evening so that we have decent food whilst getting to know Pondicherry better Wish we had booked to stay here too Fouizeya on front desk gave us a very warm welcome and was very pleasant and helpful throughout the evening as was our waitress. An excellent evening altogether and well recommended,

Villa Shanti is a boutique hotel located in the heart of the White Town. The personnel is courteous. Bedroom decoration is minimalist, simple and clean. I had a good rest after a hectic day. What could be improved? Perhaps the breakfast, which is also minimalist! (I like a proper latte, for instance). I would definitely recommend spending a night or two there.

Excellent food; cocktails and service in a VERY cool restaurant setting. Such attentive waiting service from Ram and great cocktails from Vinoth. Ridiculously good value and authentic Indian favours. Loved it! Kath (Australia)
