Was here for 2 nights. First round was for their famed chaat. We had a variety, including the popular basket chaat.
Second round started with kababs and ended with Lucknowi biryani. The food was extremely tasty. Go for the seekh kabab.
Added to the experience was my meeting a classmate after nearly 50 years!
If you are in Lucknow, and in Hazrat Ganj, you can’t avoid going to Royal Cafe. Try the Palak Chaat, the basket chaat and the kulfi here. The portions are very large so don’t order everything in one shot
I grew up in lucknow and visited Royal Cafe after 20 years - the basket chat is still as yum as ever . And even better was the dinner here ( dal makhani and chicken curry). - very good service and great taste . Valet service also available . Perfect place for family dinner .
I've eaten in Royal Cafe restaurant on both of my visits to Lucknow; the food is always very tasty and the place clean (no upset stomach or illness from eating there, although I always avoid raw vegetables and fruits when traveling in India no matter where I eat). The service was slow and the server spilled rice on me (and didn't notice) - the wait staff are not really trained so that's a downside. But the food is so tasty I can't complain much.
Famous for its basket chaat set in the busy and pompous street of lucknow. Had the basket chaat which though tasty but seemed really over priced. There is seating but inadequate which makes the eating experience a bit tedious.
