I went to this park twice. Once was in the morning and I was sad to find that the historical portion of the park does not open until much later than the actual park. The second time was about midday and it was incredibly hot and humid. The staff was very kind and gave me a book that explained in much more detail the history of the park and the houses on the grounds. I would beware that this park is quite small but has a significant amount of elevation.
This historical park, where a scholar of Confucius lived and taught, is situated on the outskirts of the city, but so easily accessible by public transport. Take the metro to Daedong Station, leave at Exit 7 and catch the 311 Bus. Take the bus for six stops and get out about 100m from the entrance to the park - even if you lose count of the stops, you will see the entrance quite clearly at the top of a hill.
If your transfer between the metro and the bus is within a half hour period, then you only pay the one charge; entrance to the park is free and so this is a bargain morning or afternoon out.
The park itself is quite extensive and includes paths up into the woods and hill but, on this occasion, with the heat and humidity on overdrive, we just opted to take a leisurely wander around the buildings.
