This is one of our favourite beaches when we visit this part of Spain. I noticed there haven't been many reviews recently, so I thought I'd write a few words. Previous comments about how busy it gets don't reflect my own experience - even in high summer there is plenty of space, just compare with Playa del Puerto in Puerto Mazarron, for example. Towards the western end you have the choice of two beaches, the south-facing one has waves, but the west-facing one is like a mill pool and great for families.
The beach is sandy enough to provide fun and games for the little ones. There are a few stones to navigate as you enter the water, but it's not bad.
I would agree with comments about the bigger chiringuito (Nares) at the eastern end - staff are about as unfriendly as I've experienced in Spain and the service is very slow. But I've used the one at the western end (for snacks and ice cream) and that is fine.
Biggest problem is the lack of toilet facilities, at least at the western end. There is a public WC but it seems to be permanently closed. This is particularly irksome out of season when going in the sea is not an option!
No vuelvo
Es mi playa favorita. Natural, poco masificada, tranquila y preciosa 💙
