One of the best restaurant experience we have had in a long time … everything was just perfect …. Can’t compliment the team enough …… food … Peri-peri chicken, chicken livers, prawns, ribs, chicken espatada, fillet and all the sides were all outstanding and just yummy ….. and the service was excellent !

Food and service good. Particularly liked the chicken livers. We were a group of 13 and there wasn’t anybody who didn’t enjoy their meal.

Date night, family dinner or friends going out - this restaurant caters for it all. The food is always superb, great service and excellent atmosphere.

Friendly Local neighbourhood restaurant. T.V screens to keep up with sport and a lively bar area . Fresh tasty meals with Mozambican flavours . Great seafood, steaks , and delicious piri piri chicken ! Johnny the owner and all the staff are always welcoming and service is always good . Make sure to book a table especially on the weekends ! It’s a favourite for all the regulars !

We have been to Jonnys on numerous times and their food has never failed. A wide variety from chicken or steak dishes, wonderful fish dishes specialising in prawns. Excellent in price

We recently went for lunch to Jonnys Place in Fourways/ Dainfern. We went with friends who had highly recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The menu was extensive, the food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall a very satisfying meal and we will certainly be going there regularly in future.

One star less than 5 stars as none of the outside heaters were working and we really wanted to sit on the outside deck but due to the cool evening, this couldn’t be achieved without heating and it was a little noisy inside. The food, however, was excellent with the prawns grilled to perfection and full of flavour, the calamari soft and tasty and the vegetables delicious. Our starter haloumi was soft and tasty, and served piping hot and fresh and the food, overall was of an excellent standard. Service was efficient and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this neighbourhood gem.

This was my 4th visit to Jonny’s. The first two were a number of years ago. On both occasions we were served (still) frozen fish. Last year, I was invited by a colleague to meet there. The food was good and not frozen ( as one would expect). The accompanying party seemed to enjoy the food. As a result, we decided to go again last week. What a disappointment. Despite confirming the food order with the waitress, the order was not what arrived at the table. Although not busy, when we tried to get the waitresses attention, she was too busy interacting with other waiters to notice. Some time later, another waiter passed by and missing table condiments were provided. The food itself could only be described as poor to average. I am well aware that Jonny’s is a staple favorite of the local Dainfern crowd and any negative comment is usually drowned out by supportive patrons. That said, 3 out of 4 meals have been a fail in my opinion. Farewell to Jonny’s.
